“At some point, if one lives long enough, the question of the meaning of life eventually surfaces, and so came the time for me.”
Tim wanted out of the drug scene, and he wanted out badly. After many attempts at quitting he rapidly found himself back in the same situations. Always intrigued by philosophy and religion Tim started searching for an answer to his questions, and at the age of 20 made a serious decision to change his ways and become a follower of Jesus, a Christian. “For the first time in my life I felt that life had purpose, meaning and direction. I didn’t become a Christian to simply feel good about myself however. In fact most people during that time in my life would laugh and scoff at me saying ‘you just wanted something to feel good about.’ That wasn’t true at all, I wanted the truth. Christianity wasn’t true to me because it felt good, Christianity felt good because I believed it to be true.”
This change in direction affected every aspect of Tim’s life. He began to hate the things he used to celebrate. The injustice in the world he ignored before now became the highlight of much of the lyrical content in his music. Tim wanted a world and music with meaning, but felt there were few artists (at least being heard on the radio) that had real meaning in their musical content.
So that became his new focus, to bring a message of meaning and change wrapped in a unique sound that could still be played on the radio. Not an easy task, but Tim felt compelled to change the direction of the material children and adults were exposed to every day over the radio.
It was (and is) his vision to (along with other artists) bring about a positive lasting transformation in the thinking (and therefore actions) of others around the world through his music.
Shortly after this breath of fresh air, Tim began to compose various pieces with the vision of one day completing his own CD. Around the same time Tim began to think about establishing a Christian website to share his own life experiences with others in need.
In 2002, at the age of only 20, Tim took the idea further than previously conceived and founded Believe Today Ministries, an on-line non-denominational Christian ministry devoted to tackling the tough questions life has to offer through the Bible. Believe Today Ministries has grown from a handful of visitors a month to over 200 visits a day.
Today Believe Today Ministries continues to aid Christians and non-Christians alike in the daily struggles of life by offering teachings, audio messages, poetry, and financial aid to credible organizations like Compassion Canada.
Between running the ministry and constantly writing new music material, Tim went from one factory to another to support himself until he finally ended up at an injection moulding plant in LaSalle just outside of Windsor (He unintentionally ended up working there for 5 years).
In 2004 Tim’s dad became suddenly ill and was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. No longer could his dad have a physical role in his son’s music. Tim would now have to produce everything himself; it was a major setback.
